Using Epsom Salt on Flowers

Epsom salt can also be used to improve the health of many flowering plants. These plants will blossom more vibrantly and produce gorgeous flowers with the help of Epsom salt. You may add Epsom salt directly to the soil or use it as a liquid solution.

To use Epsom salt for flowers, work out some Epsom salt in the soil even before planting the seeds or transplants. Make sure to use Epsom salt right after the initial planting, and also when the first growth appears (or after a month, in the case of transplants). Here are some additional tips on how to use Epsom salt on your roses:

  • Roses. They can benefit greatly from Epsom salt. It will make their foliage greener and it will result in more canes and roses. To use Epsom salt on roses, start by soaking an unplanted rose bush in one half cup of Epsom salt per gallon of water before planting. It will help the roots grow stronger and firmer. During planting, add one tablespoon of Epsom salt per hole before you insert the rose bush. After planting, use liquid Epsom salt solution to boost your roses. Use the solution listed above and spray it on your roses. Alternatively, you may work one tablespoon of Epsom salt per foot of plant. Also, don't forget to work one half cup of Epsom salt into the base of the plant once during the beginning of the season. I will encourage blooming canes, as well as proper basal cane development.

Use Epsom Salt on Shrubs
